Fast and Easy Ways to Send Files

Did you know that you can now send your printer files over the internet? Save time by removing the steps of copying files to zip disks or CD-ROMS and sending them through the mail to JCP. We now offer two quick and easy methods to transfer your printer files. If your files are 10MB or less, you can simply Email files to: jcprep@jcpub.com. For other files, JCP offers an FTP site for you to send your files.

Email Tips:

1. To ensure your files do not become corrupted during the transfer, please consider using compression software on your files, such as WinZip or PKZip for Windows users or StuffIt for Mac users. Your files will also transfer quicker!
2. Email files to jcprep@jcpub.com
3.

Please enclose a PDF version as well, for us to use in the checking of your files. (Note: There is a 10mb maximum for attached files.)

  FTP Instructions and Tips:
1. If you don’t already have an FTP program for file transfers, simply choose one on the internet. There are many low cost or even free programs you can choose from.

For a Windows platform:
JCP recommends WS_FTP from Ipswitch which can be found at http://www.ipswitch.com/products/ws_ftp/.

For Mac users:
JCP recommends Fetch which can be downloaded from http://www.fetchworks.com. There are some known issues with Fetch and Mac OS X.  Please review troubleshooting notes at http://fetchsoftworks.com/Support/faq.html.

2.

Once you have selected an FTP program to work with, you are ready to begin. To set up the connection, you will be asked for the Host Name/Address, User/ID, and Password, please contact us for this information. (607-772-0687)

3.

To help protect your file during the transfer, we suggest you compress your file using a compression software program.

4. Also, to aid us in reviewing the output of your files, please include a PDF along with your compressed files. The PDF will allow us to compare the output for type flow and image positioning before a proof is run out. It is not necessary to compress the PDF file(s).

5.

Please let your customer service representative know that you are going to place files on the FTP site, or send us an email to let us know you are going to start. If the PDF is under 10MB send that along with the e-mail. This will allow us to print out hard copy before we work on your files. Once you have completed the file transfer, please send us a quick email to let us know that you have placed a file on the FTP site. That way we will avoid downloading the file prematurely and potentially corrupting the file.

If you have any questions regarding the sending of your files to us via email or the FTP process, please do not hesitate to contact us. Feel free to call your customer service representative at 607-772-0687.
